Space for your inner world. Space for growth, freedom and connection.
Psychological complaints and problems do not stand alone; they are interwoven with your history, your relationships, and the ways you have learned to cope over the years.
At practice Ruimte, I work from a psychodynamic and experiential-person-centered approach, with attention to how experiences from the past affect the present. This approach does justice to the complexity of being human. We don't just look at the surface, but together explore the deeper patterns so that change from within becomes possible.
Many people who enter therapy carry traces of trauma. This can involve shocking events, but also more subtle experiences of emotional neglect or prolonged stress. In a trauma-sensitive approach, nothing is forced. We work step by step, at your pace, with attention to safety, stability and boundaries.
Therapy at Ruimte means not only reducing complaints, but also creating space: space to feel what truly lives within you, space to let go of old patterns and space for new inner experiences.
My vision is that healing occurs when body and psyche work together again, when old experiences and unconscious feelings become integrated into who you are now, and when you can look at yourself with curiosity and compassion.
At Ruimte you can come for a wide range of problems and complaints such as mood disorders, anxiety, post-traumatic stress complaints, personality issues, intergenerational/transgenerational trauma and relational problems.
The treatments are customized, combining techniques from different therapeutic approaches to suit your needs. I am registered as a psychotherapist in the BIG register and member of the Dutch Association for Psychotherapy. As a systemic therapist I am registered with the Dutch Association for Relationship and Family Therapy.
For when you get stuck in patterns, anxiety or depression, are overwhelmed by emotions, suffer from (self-)destructive behavior, struggle with traumatic experiences or intergenerational trauma.
Various forms of psychotherapy are possible and together we will look at what is most suitable for you. Treatment methods I work with within the psychodynamic framework include transference focused psychotherapy (TFP) and affect phobia therapy (AFT). From the experiential-person-centered framework I work with techniques such as focusing, chair work and emotional focused therapy (EFT). I also offer schema therapy and trauma treatment; EMDR, BEPP, imagery rescripting and NET.
To restore communication with your partner and rediscover connection. Within relationship therapy I have specialized in emotional focused therapy (EFT).
From the attachment perspective, we work on restoring balance and dynamics within the family system.
In this form of psychotherapy, yoga techniques and other forms of body-oriented work are incorporated into treatment to support the psychotherapeutic process. These techniques contribute to the regulation of the autonomic nervous system and increase the capacity for dual attention: the ability to feel something while simultaneously observing it, which contributes to the effectiveness of psychotherapeutic processes.
When the body is sufficiently regulated, old emotions and experiences - that were previously too overwhelming - can become accessible without flooding. This creates space for processing and integration.
This begins by contacting us via the contact button on this site or by sending an email to contact@psychotherapiepraktijk-ruimte.nl.
After this, we will schedule a non-committal and free telephone consultation (maximum duration 30 minutes) to assess together whether an intake conversation is indicated. Subsequently, we will schedule an intake conversation to get to know each other better and to map out your complaints, life course, experiences and previous care. Based on this, I can assess whether treatment with me is appropriate and you can assess whether you want to enter into this process with me. If we are both positive about this, we will draw up a treatment plan that includes the treatment goals, frequency of appointments, duration of treatment and agreements about the moments when we will evaluate the treatment together and adjust if necessary.
In some cases I cannot help you; when there is a psychotic disorder, serious addiction problems or serious suicidality. If this is the case, I advise you to contact a larger mental health organization, where multidisciplinary work is done. I can help you think about which organization can help you further in this case.
From February 5, 2026, there is room for intake.
Immediately following the intake phase.
Individual psychotherapy:
Individual psychotherapy is largely covered by basic health insurance, provided there is a valid referral letter from your GP and a DSM-5 diagnosis can be established. The amount of coverage depends on your policy and insurance company.
Relationship and family therapy (systemic therapy):
When part of a treatment plan for a mental disorder (DSM-5 diagnosis), systemic therapy is covered by basic insurance. Standalone treatments (without diagnosis) are usually not covered by basic insurance, but sometimes partially through supplementary insurance.
Psychotherapy Practice Ruimte has chosen to work uncontracted. This means the practice does not enter into contracts with health insurers. This is to maintain maximum freedom in treatment methods, therapy duration and approach. And to preserve the quality and continuity of care without limitations that often result from contractual requirements of insurers. It is important to check in advance with your health insurer what amount is reimbursed for psychotherapy with an uncontracted provider. This way you know exactly where you stand.
At Ruimte I work with the rates established by the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa) for psychotherapists. These apply to both individual psychotherapy and relationship and family therapy (systemic therapy).
You will receive a monthly invoice, which you can submit to your health insurer yourself.
Appointments can be canceled free of charge up to 24 hours in advance. For appointments not canceled in time, €90 will be charged. These costs are not reimbursed by the insurer.

In addition to my work within practice Ruimte, I have been working for decades at various mental health institutions, including the last 7 years until present at Arq Center '45. I have extensive experience in, and passion for, trauma treatment, treatment of attachment and personality disorders, and couple relationship therapy. In addition to my training as psychotherapist and systemic therapist, I have followed further advanced and postgraduate training in these areas.
Additionally, I have been practicing yoga since 2001. Yoga is of great value to me because of its positive effect on my life and consciousness. To be able to share this knowledge with others, I am also trained as a yoga teacher and interested in the integration of yoga and psychotherapy.
Treatment is available in Dutch, English, and Hebrew.
If you have a complaint about the treatment, I suggest discussing it with me first. I will always be open to this and together we will look for a solution. If we cannot resolve it together, you can file a complaint via the link below, as determined by the professional association LVVP.
Do you have questions about my approach or want to know if I can help you? Please feel free to contact me for a non-binding telephone consultation.
